Bio

Coach DeSoto enters his frist season as the Assistant Baseball Coach for the Wrangler Baseball Program.

Originating from Fairfield, CA, I established my roots in vibrant Las Vegas at the age of 3, becoming a product of the city's dynamic energy. Raised among two brothers, my parents ingrained in us an to be great at everything we do. Most of my family is still in Las Vegas as I take on Texas for my 4th year. My educational journey led me to Bonanza High in Las Vegas, where my passion for baseball took root. This paved the way to the College of Southern Nevada (CSN), where I embraced the diamond's challenges. My freshman year showcased my adaptability, alternating between 2nd and 3rd base while mostly playing left field. A season of promise, I achieved a notable .330 batting average over 94 plate appearances. The following year presented both triumph and trial. Despite a broken hamate bone in my left hand, my grit prevailed, resulting in a .263 batting average. This setback fueled my determination for the next chapter. Destiny smiled with a full scholarship to the University of Texas Permian Basin (UTPB), fulfilling a dream. The 2019-2020 season was ended due to covid-19, I returned to UTPB for the 2020-2021 season, showcasing resilience with a .357 batting average, a 22-game hitting streak, and etching my name as the third to hit for the cycle, I also reached base in all games but one, In the 2021-2022 season, I emerged as a leader, excelling in doubles and triples. 2022 was curtailed by a knee injury, yet I roared into 2023, leaving a .293 batting average in a record-breaking season. Falling just short of playoffs, our unyielding spirit endured. Beyond baseball, I ended up playing 6 years of college baseball and ended up earning a Psychology degree from UTPB, enriching my perspective. Now, as I enter my first year as a college coach I am excited to bring the energy everyday, and help these boys both on and off the field. My goal as a coach is to help build these young men and teach them lessons they will use for life.
