Oxford, AL – The Wrangler Softball Team will take on the #4 seed Florida SouthWestern on Tuesday at 11:00am in the second round of the NJCAA D1 World Series. Odessa advanced to Tuesday's matchup with at 10-2 victory over Trinidad State on Monday morning.  

  • Odessa is the #13 seed in the tournament, Florida SouthWestern is the #4 seed.
  • This will be the fourth time the Wranglers and Buccaneers will face each other at the World Series. Florida Southwestern leads the series 2-1.

World Series History:  

  • Odessa will be making their fourth consecutive trip NJCAA D1 Softball World Series.
  • The Wranglers finished 3rd in 2022 & 2023.
  • This will be the tenth trip in program history to the World Series.

Familiar Faces:

  • Odessa has faced five of the twenty teams in this year's World Series.
  • #1 McLennan, #5 Temple, #7 Galveston, #12 San Jacinto, and #20 Trinidad State.

By the Numbers – vs. Trinidad

  • Odessa pounded out 15 hits in the victory over Trinidad
  • Six of the 15 hits were for extra bases
  • 9 of the 10 Wrangler runs were scored with two outs
  • Pitcher Avery Truss picked up the victory in the circle
  • Truss struck out five and limited Trinidad to three hits
