Wranglers take down Trinidad 81-52

The Odessa College Men's Basketball team defeated Trinidad State 81-52 in the first round of the NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball National Tournament on Sunday Night.

The Wrangler dominated from the opening tip, jumping out to and 12-0 lead before Trinidad State scored its first basket of the game at the 15:37 mark of the first half. 

Odessa would never look back from then as they took a 46-17 lead into the locker room at halftime and would control that lead the final 20 minutes of play. 

Defense and rebounding were a huge factor in the game as the Wranglers forced 21 turnovers and out rebounded the Trojans 45 to 26. 

With the victory, Odessa moves on to the sweet sixteen where they will face the #4 seed Vincinnes at 12:00pm on Tuesday.
