Men's Basketball Headed Back to NJCAA D1 National Tournament

The Odessa College Wrangler Men's Basketball Team will make their fourth consecutive appearance to the NJCAA D1 Men's Basketball Championship next week in Hutchinson, KS. 

The Wranglers will be the number three seed in the tournament and will receive a first round bye.  Odessa will play their first game on Wednesday, March 22nd at 6pm against the winner of #14 Southeastern (IA) and #19 Snead State (AL).

The tournament which runs from March 20th through the 25th will be played at the Hutchinson Sports Arena in Hutchinson, KS. The field is made up of the top 24 teams in country, sixteen of the teams are automatic qualifiers after winning their district championship and the other eight teams are at-large bid selections.

This will be the twelfth appearance all time for Odessa College at the national tournament and the fourth time under current head coach Kris Baumann. Last year, Odessa went 1-1 in the tournament defeating Shelton State 89-82 in the second round before falling to Salt Lake 68-66 in the elite eight.

The entire 2023 NJCAA D1 National Tournament will be live streamed on the NJCAA Network (pay=per-view) and the National Championship Game on Saturday, March 25th at 1pm will air on ESPNU.
