Baseball Host Cisco in Round 1 of Region 5 Tournament
The Odessa College Baseball team returns to post-season play this weekend at Wrangler Ballpark.
The Wranglers will host Cisco College in a best of three game series in the First Round of the Region 5/Southwest District Tournament.
Odessa went 30-6 in conference play to capture the WJCAC regular season title under first year head coach David Wood.
This year the Region 5/Southwest District Tournament has a new format. The top four teams from both the WJCAC and NTJCAC qualify for post-season play.
The top two seeds in both the WJCAC and the NTJCAC will host the three and four seeds from the opposing conference in a best of three-game series. The winners at those four sites will play the following weekend in a four-team double elimination tournament for a bid to the 2025 NJCAA D1 World Series.
Odessa, having won the WJCAC, will be the #1 seed from the WJCAC and will host the #4 seed from the NTJCAC Cisco College.
The three-game series will be played on Thursday, Friday, and an if necessary game on Saturday. First pitch all three-days is scheduled for 1:00pm at Wrangler Ballpark.
