
68 Wranglers Named NJCAA Academic All Americans by NJCAA

Charlotte, NC – The NJCAA has announced the 2023-24 All-Academic Teams, recognizing student-athletes across the country for their dedication in the classroom. A total of 12,245 student-athletes have been honored for achieving a GPA above 3.60.
68 Wrangler Student Athletes were named to this years teams. 30 were named to the 1st team, 18 named to the 2nd team, and 20 were named to the third team. Odessa was well represented by all seven NJCAA sports. Softball lead the way with 15 selections, Volleyball had 13, Women's Basketball 12, Baseball 11, Men's Golf 8, Women's Golf 7, and Men's Basketball 2.
Student-athletes are eligible to earn academic honors by achieving an overall GPA of 3.60 or higher for the 2023-24 academic year. The criteria for the three All-Academic teams are listed below:
- NJCAA All-Academic First Team: 4.00 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Second Team: 3.80-3.99 GPA
- NJCAA All-Academic Third Team: 3.60-3.79 GPA

3,424 student-athletes garnered NJCAA All-Academic First Team honors after achieving a 4.0 GPA. 4,013 student-athletes were named to the NJCAA All-Academic Second Team while 4,808 student-athletes received third-team recognition.
