When the head men's basketball coaching position opened two years ago, it didn't take long for Odessa to fill that vacancy.  The Wranglers named Kris "Bucket" Baumann the eighth head basketball in program history in May of 2018. "Odessa College was very fortunate to find a basketball coach with the experience that Coach Baumann brings to OC" said Athletic Director Wayne Baker. 

In his first season as Head Coach, Baumann guided the Wranglers to a 28-7 record overall.  The Wranglers were WJCAC Conference Champions, made their fourth consecutive trip to the NJCAA D1 National Tournament, and Coach Bucket was named the WJCAC Coach of the Year. 

In his two years at Odessa, Baumann has seen over ten of his players sign at the four year level to continue their academic and athletic careers. 

 "Kris has been a valuable addition to the athletic department and the college with his extensive college coaching and teaching background" said Baker.  "I appreciate his knowledge and his relentless desire to make our students better every day."

I have watched more game tape than ever before.
