Volleyball travels to Weatherford for Region 5 Tournament
The #8 ranked Wrangler Volleyball team will open play in the 2023 NJCAA Region 5 Volleyball tournament on Thursday at 11am when they take on North Central Texas College.
This will be the first year of a combined region 5 tournament where the top four seeds from the west and the top four seeds from the north will play together for two automatic bids to the 2023 NJCAA D1 Volleyball National Tournament.
Odessa will be the #3 seed from the West, the Wranglers were 25-5 overall and 10-4 in conference play. North Central will be the #2 seed from the North, the Lions were 20-13 overall and 10-4 in conference play.
Should the Wranglers win there 11am game on Thursday, they would play the winner of NMMI vs. Vernon at 5pm that same day.
The three-day, double elimination tournament will send two automatic qualifiers to the 2023 NJCAA D1 National Tournament in Hutchinson, KS November 15th through the 18th.
