Wranglers Blast Two Home Runs to Beat Lake Land 3-0

YUMA, AZ - The Odessa Softball team moved to 2-0 at the NJCAA D1 National Championship with a 3-0 victory over Lake Land (IL) on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wranglers got another solid outing from Aydenne Brown who threw a complete game one hit shutout striking out seven Lake Land hitters.
Offensively, Odessa used a pair of home runs in securing the 3-0 victory. Morgan Dutton blasted at two run shot to deep left field in the bottom of the third to give the Wranglers a 2-0 lead. Odessa added to their lead in the bottom of the fourth when Taryn Terpsma hit a solo home run to left field to extend the lead to 3-0.
That was all Brown needed through the final three innings retiring Lake Land in order in the fifth, sixth, and seventh inning to secure the Wrangler victory.
Odessa advances in the winners bracket to face #1 seed Florida Southwestern on Thursday at 12pm CDT.
