Wranglers Headed to Arizona

Wranglers Headed to Arizona

After a trip to Florida this past weekend, the Wranglers are gearing up for another long road trip to Arizona.  Odessa College had the bats working pretty well in their opening weekend, going 3-4 overall over the three-day Florida tournament.  "We were able to see several good teams and played well for the most part.  We had double-digit hits in the six of the seven games we played," Head Coach Joel Prickett said.

In the Wranglers' opener, the ladies found themselves on top with an 8-2 win over Pensacola State College.  The second game of the weekend would have a different result, with a 3-9 loss to Indian River State College.  On the second day of play, OC had a tough 8-9 loss to Palm Beach State College.  In game two, the Wranglers had yet another one-run upset, losing to Northwest Florida State College 6-7.  To close our their triple header on day two, the Wranglers shut out Eastern Florida State College 5-0.

To wrap up the weekend, OC played a double-header on Sunday beating St. Peterburg College 5-1, but dropping the next to College of Central Florida 1-7.   The Wranglers are excited about starting their spring season, and look forward to another weekend of great competition.

According to Coach Prickett, "This weekend we will face two of the top D-II junior colleges in the country and a very good Southern Nevada team.  We're looking for the nerves to be settled a little more in our freshman."  There has been a slight change to OC's playing original schedule in Arizona but the schedule online is now current and up-to-date.
