Ranger Rodeo Results

For the past two rodeos, the Odessa College Wranglers' steer wrestlers have been dominant.  At the Howard College Rodeo, OC steer wrestlers Hank Filippini and Chet Boren finished first and second in the average.  This weekend at the Ranger College Rodeo in Brownwood, TX the OC steer wrestlers split first.  Chet Boren and Zach Nevels each threw two steers in 8.7 seconds to split the event championship.  The win helped Boren earn a qualification to the College National Finals Rodeo in June.  Boren and Nevels won first and second place in the first round, then won first and second in the second round, to split the event title.  Blaine Price and Koty Kamm also placed in the steer wrestling at the Ranger College Rodeo.

Hawkins Boyce earned a CNFR qualification at the Ranger College Rodeo by winning the saddle bronc riding title.  Boyce finished third in the first round; won the short round and the average.

Katelyn Badham picked up points in the barrel racing at the Ranger College Rodeo.  Badham finished sixth in the first round.  Then placed second in the short round and finished fourth in the average.

The OC Men's team finished third in the team standings and the OC Lady Wranglers finished 7th.  The OC Rodeo Team will compete this weekend at the Tarleton University Rodeo.  Two OC Wranglers have earned their CNFR births, nine others still have a chance to qualify for the CNFR at this weekend's Tarelton University Rodeo.
