OC Wranglers Win Southwest Championship

The Odessa College Wrangler Golf team was in Pottsboro, TX the last two days, and despite some cooler conditions, the Wranglers are coming home with another First Place finish.  The Wranglers finished with a total score of 868 to beat defending tournament champions Midland College by 15 strokes. Sophomore Will Clark claimed his first individual victory of his college career in Pottsboro.

Odessa College's final team score of 286 and Clark's 68 were the lowest scores of the 54 hole tournament, which included 10 teams.  Vetle Maroy and Conner Bjugstad  finished individually in the top ten, with Maroy tying for fourth place and Bjugstad tying for ninth.

Scores from this NJCAA Southwest Championship carry over to the District 2 Championship, that is being held April 27-28th at Diamondback Golf Club in Abilene, TX. The top five teams from Abilene will advance to the NJCAA National Championship on May 12-15th in Newton, KS.
