The Odessa Softball team went 1-1 on Day 2 of the Southwest District A Championship at the Wrangler Softball Complex.
GAME 1:
Grayson 2 (2-0) | Odessa 1 (1-1)
Grayson scored two runs in the top of the sixth on an rbi triple and a sac fly to take a 2-1 lead and would hold off Odessa over the final two innings to advance to the championship game at noon on Friday.
Haydn Milley drove in the only run for the Wrangler on a two out RBI single that scored Renske Tellekamp.
With the loss, Odessa faced Western TX in the second elimination game of the day after WTC beat Weatherford 3-2.
GAME 2:
Odessa 8 (2-1) | Western TX 0 (1-2) 5 innings
The Wrangler bats finally came alive in their second game on Thursday afternoon. Odessa score at least on run in five consecutive inning starting in the second.
Mackenzei Bernal and Avery Terpsma both hit home runs and had multiple RBIs in the victory.
Odessa now advances to the Southwest District A Championship game on Friday at noon against Grayson. The Wranglers will have to beat Grayson twice to claim the automatic berth to the World Series.
