Odessa takes Game 1 over Cisco 8-4

GAME 1:
Odessa 8 (1-0) | Cisco 4 (0-1)
The Odessa Baseball team defeated Cisco College 8-4 in Game 1 of the best of three game series on Thursday afternoon at Wrangler Ballpark.
In the battle of the Wranglers, Odessa took the lead in the bottom of the second scoring two runs. Cisco answered in the top half of the thrid with a pair of runs to tie the score at 2-2.
Odessa would take the lead for good in the bottom of the third as Nathaniel Mendoza blasted a two run homerun over the left field wall to extend the OC lead to 4-2.
The Wranglers would a three more runs in the fifth one via a solo homerun from Lazaro Alvarado and one more in the eighth. Cisco would go on to score one run in the top of the ninth but that was not enough as Odessa would go on to win 8-4.
Daniel Lopez had another strong outing throwing six inning in the win and Dominic Guidice closed it out allowing only one run over the final three innings of the ballgame.
The two teams will be back in action tomorrow for Game 2 of the series, first pitch is at 1:00pm.
