Former OC Golfer Abraham Ancer named to GCAA 2020 Hall of Fame Class

Former Odessa College Golfer and PGA Tour Professional Abraham Ancer was inducted into the 2020 NJCAA Golf Coaches Association Hall of Fame.   

He is the only inductee to the Hall of Fame from the NJCAA Division 1 level.  Abraham was going to be formally inducted into the Hall of Fame during the 2020 NJCAA National Golf Tournament which was scheduled to be played at the Odessa Country Club but later cancelled due to COVID-19.

Ancer attended Odessa College during the 2009-2010 school year and is one of the most decorated players to come the Wrangler Golf Program.  While at Odessa he was named 1st Team All-American. In 2010 he received the Jack Nicklaus Award as the NJCAA National Player of the Year and the Phil Mickelson Award that goes to the NJCAA Freshman of the Year. 

Ancer is currently ranked 25 in the 2020 PGA Tour FedEx Cup Season Standings.

The NJCAA has approved Odessa College and the Odessa Country Club to host the National Golf Tournament in May of 2022.  The Tournament will be played on the links course, which hosted the same event in 2011.
