Cross Country Helps with Keep Odessa Beautiful

The Odessa College Cross Country Team helped with the 2015 "Keep Odessa Beautiful" trash clean-up day.  Head Coach, Cate Walsh mentioned that her team has participated in this particular event for a couple of years now and feels that the athletes enjoy participating in community service events.

Yanet Roman added, "we as student-athletes take responsibility in our community and enjoy participating in service projects like Keep Odessa Beautiful, becasue we are a big part of the college as a whole...we want not only to give the college a good name, but we want to represent our team in a positive light.  Plus, we want to have a clean environment for our city!"

Sophomore, Jade Marin added, "I enjoy doing community service projects becasue it makes me feel good about keeping my community clean and just helping out others when they are in need.  I also think it's good for us as student-athletes because our community supports us in many ways - with our skilled sport, but also in the classroom with our education.  I feel that it's just a really nice way to pay back the community for all they do for us on a daily basis in order for us to be able to do what we love and to help us succeed."
