Wrangler Volleyball Wraps up 2018 Season

The Odessa College Volleyball team concluded the 2018 volleyball season with a five set loss in the WJCAC Region V tournament semi-finals to rival Midland College.

Odessa College defeated Midland College both times during WJCAC Conference play this season.  With the post-season loss, OC finished the season with a 21-10 overall record, going 7-3 in conference play.  The 2018 season marks the third straight second place conference finish for the Wranglers. 

New Mexico Military Institute defeated Midland College to capture the Region V Championship.  NMMI will play host to Region I champion Arizona Western College on November 6th to determine which team will head to the NJCAA National Tournament. 

Head Coach Kristi Gray finishes her third season at the helm of the Wrangler Volleyball program, winning over 20 games for the third consecutive year.  She has a 66-30 career record at the controls of the Odessa College program.  

Four Wranglers received WJCAC All-Conference recognition for the 2018 volleyball season.  Sophomores Carly Evetts, Marianna Ferreira and Haley Thomas, and Freshman Alexis Parrish were selected first team All-Conference.  Carly Evetts and Marianna Ferreira were also named to the All-Region V team that is selected by the volleyball coaches within Region V.
