The Odessa College women's basketball advanced to the quarterfinals of the NJCAA Tournament with a 69-54 victory over Tyler Junior College Wednesday afternoon at the Rip Griffin Center.
The Lady Wranglers (24-7 overall) will take on Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College in the quarterfinals at 5 p.m. Thursday.
The Blue Dragons (32-3) defeated Angelina College 72-59 earlier this afternoon.
Odessa College led from start to finish and were sparked by a big afternoon from Julan McDonald. The sophomore forward recorded a double-double finishing with 20 points and 10 rebounds.
Sophmore guard Amanda Soderqvist added 10 points for Odessa College.
Kierra Brimzy finished with 18 points for the Apaches (29-6) while Trelynn Tyler finished with 11 points and seven assists.
