Track & Field Preparing for Opening Weekend

Odessa College Track and Field has been working hard all semester, and has yet to compete in an actual event.  They are beyond ready and very anxious to get their season started.  They will be kicking off their Outdoor Track season right after Spring Break, at the Texas Tech Outdoor Open on March 24, 2016.

Stand out returner for the men is Rashaun Black.  He ended last track season less than 2 seconds off from qualifying for the national tournament in the 800 meter event.

There are 13 athletes focusing on the 800 meter, 1500 meter, and 5,000 meter events.  With only four sophomores, head coach Cate Walsh is "very interested and excited to see what the freshman can do this Spring.  I have seen improvements so far since coming back from Christmas Break, and I'm ready to see them actually compete...and I know they are ready too!"
