Track & Field Volunteers for Special Olympics Basketball Tournament

The Odessa College Track and Field team once again helped out with the Special Olympics Texas - Permian Basin/Big Bend Area organization for their annual basketball tournament.  Head Coach, Cate Walsh said she "thoroughly enjoys seeing her student-athletes participate in this annual event.  It truly makes my heart smile to see my athletes enjoying their time and it's not just about volunteering our time to a community service event, it's about making an impact on someone's life; even if it is for just a tiny moment, here during one day."

Rerturning sophomore runner, Jade Marin has volunteered two years in a row now for this event, and she said "both years I've had a great time.  It was nice to see some familiar faces from last year and to get to see them all having such a good time.  It was heart warming to see all the coaches and athletes just having a great time.  It's a good, fun environment to be in and it's probably my favorite service event we do as a team."
