The Odessa College Rodeo Team competed in their final regular season rodeo of the 2015-2016 season at the Tarleton Stampede in Stephenville, TX, April 21-23.  The Wranglers finished the season off strong with the Men's team placing fourth in the rodeo and the Women's team placing third in the rodeo.

In the bare back riding Austin Williams continued to have a strong spring semester.  Williams placed fourth in the first round and won the second round in the bareback riding. His two head total of 143 points was good enough for second place in the bareback riding average.  Williams finished the year sixth in the Southwest Region and should be a strong contender for the Wranglers next year.

In the steer wrestling Rylie Clemons placed fifth in the steer wrestling average.  Clemons placed on both steers on his way to his fifth place finish.  Much like Williams, Clemons had a good spring semester and should be a contributor for the Wranglers next year. Teammate Jake Trujillo finished the year as the reserve champion steer wrestler in the Southwest Region and will represent Odessa College at the 2016 College National Finals Rodeo.

Rylee Jo dick continued to have a great year in the ladies barrel racing.  Rylee finished second in both rounds and the average at the Tarleton Stampede.  Rylee finished the year as the reserve champion barrel racer in the Southwest Region.  Rylee will compete at the College National Finals Rodeo for the second consecutive year.

Bull rider Layne Ward continued to have a great spring semester at the Tarleton Stampede rodeo.  Ward scored 76 points to win second in the round and second in the average at the rodeo.  For the spring semester (5 rodeos) Ward has earned three first place finishes and one second place finish.  Ward earned the Southwest Region bull riding championship and will also compete at the College National Finals Rodeo.

Also for the Wranglers Coach Aragon was voted as the Southwest Region Coach-of-the-Year. Aragon will be one of eleven finalist for the National Coach-of-the-Year at the 2016 CNFR.

The Wranglers will compete at the 2016 College National Finals Rodeo June 12-18 in Casper, Wyoming.
