No. 7 Odessa College Bounces Back To Drop No. 12 Panola College

LJ Figueroa scored 28 points and the No. 7 Odessa College men's basketball team rolled by No. 12 Panola College 84-70 on Sunday to close the Wranglers' weekend at the Midwest Scouting Service East-West Challenge.

Odessa College beat Lee College 100-71 to start its weekend at the event on Friday, then lost to No. 16 San Jacinto College 83-70 on Saturday before Sunday's bounce-back victory.

Jermaine Haley added 11 points for the Wranglers in Sunday's win, while JJ Simpson chipped in another 10.

The Wranglers opened the season ranked seventh in the NJCAA's first Division I poll released in October.

Odessa College plays its home opener Tuesday against the University of the Southwest.
