OC Men/Women Basketball Both Ranked In Top 10 In NJCAA Preseason Poll
Odessa College Men Preseason Basketball Rankings
The NJCAA has officially released the 2017-18 NJCAA Division I Men's Basketball Preseason Rankings. The voting committee has put OC as the #7 team in the nation. Last season the Wranglers finished with a 28-6 record and a WJCAC championship. OC then advanced to the elite 8 in the NJCAA National Tournament only to fall to the eventual national champion, Hutchinson CC.
The Wranglers return two key players from last season in Kejuan Johnson and Keandre Cook who both made impacts throughout last season, especially during the National Tournament. OC will open their season on November 1st against The University of the Southwest in Hobbs, NM.
Odessa College Women Preseason Basketball Rankings
The NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball committee has ranked the Lady Wranglers #10 in the nation. The Lady Wranglers are coming off a fantastic year, accumulating an overall record of 29-2 and capturing a WJCAC title. OC advanced to the Elite 8 in the NJCAA National Tournament but fell short to Shelton State CC.
The Lady Wranglers return four players from last season, all in which saw plenty of minutes with two of them being in the starting lineup. Leticia Soares and Chinna Fair were both named to the WJCAC All-Conference team and will be key members for the upcoming season. The Lady Wranglers will open their season on November 3rd against Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher, AZ.
