Bio

Shane Segovia enters his third season as the Assistant Baseball Coach for the Wrangler Baseball Program. Segovia joined the baseball staff in January of 2020. 

Before his arrival to Odessa, Segovia served as an Assistant Baseball Coach at Northeast Texas Community College (Region XIV East). Segovia served as the Eagles offense & hitting coach, infield coach, recruiting coordinator, and was in charge of field maintenance.

Prior to making his coaching stop at Northeast, Segovia spent two years ('16, '17) back in his hometown Sinton, Texas. coaching at Sinton High School where he served as a Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach working with the infielders and hitters. 

Throughout his two seasons coaching at Sinton High School Segovia helped guide the Pirates to the postseason both years also punching a ticket to the Texas UIL State Tournament in 2017.

Segovia a Texas native and Sinton High School graduate (2010) was a four year letterman while starting at shortstop all four years at Sinton High making a trip to the Texas UIL State Tournament in 2007. 

After his high school career Segovia attended Northeast Texas Community College in 2011 and 2012 leading the Eagles to a conference championship in 2012 starting at third base both years and was selected to the TX/NM All-Star Game his Sophomore year. 

After playing two seasons at Northeast Segovia went on to the University of Missouri to play his Junior and Senior seasons ('13, '14) in the SEC starting at 3B and 2B both years for the Tigers.

Segovia graduated from the University of Missouri (Mizzou) in 2014 with a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences.
