Andrew Morales Named NJCAA First Team All-American

Andrew Morales, the starting first baseman for the Wranglers, was recently awarded 1^st team All-American honors by the NJCAA.  Morales helped lead the OC Baseball team to a historic season finishing with the second best record in school history at 46-13 and winning the WJCAC for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.  Andrew appeared in 57 games this year while posting a .432 batting average, which ranks him 18^th nationally and 4^th in the WJCAC.  He ranks 20^th nationally and 5^th in the WJCAC with 71 RBI's.  Morales also finished with 92 hits which included 22 doubles, 3 triples, and 15 homeruns.  Andrew is the first OC NJCAA 1^st team All-American since Quinn Stewart of the 2002 season.

Along with his on the field achievements, Morales was selected to the NJCAA 1^st team All-Academic team.  Andrew finished the year with a 4.00 GPA and next year will continue his academic and playing career at Angelo State University.  Andrew is the first ever Odessa College baseball student-athlete to receive NJCAA 1^st team All-American honors and 1^st team All-Academic honors.
