Andrew Morales Named NJCAA First Team All-American

Andrew Morales, the starting first baseman for the Wranglers, was recently awarded 1st team All-American honors by the NJCAA.  Morales helped lead the OC Baseball team to a historic season finishing with the second best record in school history at 46-13 and winning the WJCAC for the first time since the 1999-2000 season.  Andrew appeared in 57 games this year while posting a .432 batting average, which ranks him 18th nationally and 4th in the WJCAC.  He ranks 20th nationally and 5th in the WJCAC with 71 RBI's.  Morales also finished with 92 hits which included 22 doubles, 3 triples, and 15 homeruns.  Andrew is the first OC NJCAA 1st team All-American since Quinn Stewart of the 2002 season.
Along with his on the field achievements, Morales was selected to the NJCAA 1st team All-Academic team.  Andrew finished the year with a 4.00 GPA and next year will continue his academic and playing career at Angelo State University.  Andrew is the first ever Odessa College baseball student-athlete to receive NJCAA 1st team All-American honors and 1st team All-Academic honors.
