Basketball Opens WJCAC play against Frank Phillips on Wednesday

The Wrangler Men's and Women's Basketball teams opens conference play this Wednesday, December 4th inside the OC Sports Center.  The women's game tips off at 5:45pm and the men's game follows at 7:30pm. 

The Wrangler Women (9-5) ranked #22 in this week's NJCAA D1 poll look to get back into the win column after suffering a pair of losses last week at the TVCC Budke / Serna Classic in Athens, TX. 

OC is led by sophomores Okako Adika and Yanina Todorova who are both averaging just under 10 points per game. As a team the Wranglers are scoring just under 70 points per contest while holding their opponents to an average of 54 points per game through their first 14 games of the season.

The Frank Phillips women (5-5) come in on a two game winning streak.  The Plainsmen have two players, Canton Moreno and Amaya Johns, who are averaging over 20 points per game. 

The Odessa Men enter conference play with at 7-6 overall record while Frank Phillips comes in with a 9-3 record.  FPC has won four straight headed into Wednesday night's contest. 

The Wranglers are led in scoring by Joe Kasperzyk who is averaging 16 points a game.  Joe is tied for fourth in the WJCAC in points per game.  FPC who is fourth in the country in field goal percentage has five players averaging 10 points or more per game. 

Wednesday night's game will be your last chance to catch the Wranglers in 2019.  OC will return back to action on January, with their first home game on Thursday, January 16th 2020.
